Metro Trading Association (MTA) was established in 1978 by Michael Mercier.  Prior to opening MTA Mercier had been a partner in a successful stock brokerage firm.  The company serves the Great Lakes region, and is a member of the National Association of Trade Exchanges (NATE) and the International Reciprocal Trade Association (IRTA).  Mercier has been a past president of NATE and has served on the global board of directors for IRTA.
