Universal Currency (UC), the modern trade and barter industry's
largest industry owned currency, set a record for trading in 2010 of
$5,417,621.30. This currency is used among trade exchange owners
when trading with one anothers exchanges.
The increase is attributed to a greater number of exchanges
participating in UC, improved brokering services, and the joint UC/Greenapple
Barter Trade Show held in conjunction with IRTAs 31st International
Convention.
Scott Whitmer, UC Committee Chairman, affirmed, 2010 was a good
year for UC, and we expect 2011 will be even better. Exchange owners
are realizing that UC is a great way to increase their trading and
provide quality offerings to members outside their regional
marketplace.
